1 ampoule with 2 ml of solution for injection contains 250 mg of etamsylate; in a box 50 pcs.

1 tablet - 250 mg; 10 pcs in a blister, 10 blisters in a box.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacodynamics. Dicynone is a means to prevent and stop. It affects the first stage of the hemostasis mechanism (the interaction between the endothelium and platelets). Dicinone increases platelet adhesiveness, normalizes the stability of capillary walls, thus reducing their permeability, inhibits the biosynthesis of prostaglandins, which cause platelet disaggregation, vasodilation and increased capillary permeability. As a result, bleeding time is significantly reduced and blood loss is reduced.

Pharmacokinetics. Etamsylate is almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, reaching Cmax in blood plasma 4 hours after administration.
After intravenous administration of the drug, the hemostatic effect is observed after 5-15 minutes, the maximum is achieved within 1 hour. The drug is effective for 4-6 hours, after which the effect gradually disappears. After intravenous administration of Dicinone at a dose of 500 mg maximum level in blood plasma is reached after 10 minutes and is 50 mcg/ml.
About 72% of the administered dose is excreted unchanged in the urine during the first 24 hours. Etamsylate penetrates the placental barrier and penetrates into breast milk.

Indications for use:

Dicynone is prescribed for the prevention and control of hemorrhages in superficial and internal capillaries of various etiologies, especially if bleeding is caused by endothelial damage:
.prevention and treatment of bleeding during and after surgical operations in otolaryngology, gynecology, obstetrics, urology, dentistry, ophthalmology and plastic surgery;
.prevention and treatment of various etiologies and localizations: metrorrhagia, primary hypermenorrhea, hypermenorrhea in women with intrauterine contraception, bleeding gums.

The drug does not cause blood clots and does not constrict blood vessels. Etamsylate makes capillaries more stable and reduces their fragility.

Absorbed quickly after oral administration, intramuscular and intravenous administration. It spreads throughout tissues and organs and almost does not bind to plasma proteins. Excreted by the kidneys and intestines. The period of complete elimination from the body is 4 hours. After intravenous administration, it takes effect within 5-10 minutes.

How quickly does it stop bleeding?

This drug is effective for uterine bleeding. After use the amount decreases bloody discharge until it disappears completely. The drug begins to act after 15-60 minutes. On the first day, the blood becomes a little less. Within 5-7 days, Dicinon stops bleeding, but it must be taken for several more days after that. If bleeding is caused by formations in the uterus, other drugs may be needed in combination. Then the condition will improve after the cause of the bleeding is eliminated.

For prophylaxis and as an ambulance for bleeding of various origins. Active ingredient the drug is ethamsylate.

In addition to the hemostatic (hemostatic) effect, Dicinon strengthens the vascular wall, reduces its permeability, improves microcirculation, and also promotes the process of blood clotting. The drug stimulates the maturation and release of platelets (special blood cells responsible for the formation of a blood clot) from the bone marrow.

The hemostatic effect of Dicynon is explained by the fact that it activates III factor blood clotting (thromboplastin).

In addition, Dicinon has a vasoconstrictor effect by stimulating the release of a special substance - prostacyclin PgI2, which additionally helps stop bleeding.

Despite its hemostatic effects, Dicynon does not increase thrombosis, does not increase overall blood clotting and does not increase systemic blood pressure.

The therapeutic effect of taking Dicinon orally occurs in approximately 2.5-3 hours, with intramuscular injection– after 1-1.5 hours, and after intravenous injection- in 15 minutes. The duration of action of the drug is about 4-6 hours, in the following hours its activity slowly decreases and completely stops by the end of the day.
