Burnet plant - use in gynecology. Burnet herb medicinal use, burnet root, medicinal properties

Thank you

Plant burnet has long been used as an astringent and hemostatic agent for internal bleeding, hemorrhoids, menstrual irregularities and many other diseases. This article will discuss in detail the properties of this amazing plant, the scope and methods of its use in children and adults.

Description of the burnet plant

Burnet belongs to the class perennial plants. It can be recognized by its very thin and long stems, reaching a height of up to one and a half meters, many small flowers, as well as leaves, which in their shape resemble feathers. Features powerful roots. The plant grows near rivers and small streams, in spacious clearings and meadows.

Collection and storage

The plant blooms only in the fourth or fifth year of life, between June and August, while the fruits ripen from August to September. The burnet fruit is a small brown nut.

IN medicinal purposes Mostly the roots and rhizomes of burnet are used, harvested during the fruiting period, when the inflorescences acquire a dark red color.

It is extremely important to properly collect and dry the plant, for which you should adhere to the following rules:
1. To preserve the thickets, some part of the plants must be left to resume reproduction (one or two plants per 10 sq.m.).
2. Secondary procurement of medicinal raw materials at one site is carried out after 10 years.
3. To dig up a plant, a shovel with a groove-shaped rounded blade is used, while it is impossible to pull the burnet out of the soil by the stems.
4. The soil and stems are removed from the dug up roots and rhizomes, after which the medicinal raw materials are thoroughly washed in cold water. The washed raw materials are laid out for drying, after which the remains of the stems located at the base of the rhizomes are removed.
5. The dried raw materials are cut into 20-centimeter strips and left to dry for fresh air, after which it is finally dried in the sun (the raw materials can be dried in an oven or in dryers, but always at a temperature of 45 degrees).

Important! You cannot dry raw materials on metal trays or racks, as the plant may turn black and, therefore, lose its medicinal properties.

The fact that the medicinal raw material has completely dried is indicated by the fragility of the roots (in an under-dried plant, the roots bend rather than break).

The finished raw material is distinguished by a dark brown color on the outside (the fracture of the roots has a yellowish tint), an astringent taste and no odor.

Dried roots and rhizomes are stored for about five years.
