Pine, like its sister spruce, belongs to the most famous trees, appearance and the magnificent aroma of which is familiar to everyone early childhood. An elegant, slender, tall beauty pleases the eye, the air filled with the smell of her pine needles is intoxicating, and it is simply impossible to breathe enough of it. Pine wood is used in carpentry and carpentry; exclusive wickerwork is created from its roots. It is made from cones. Resin (also known as resin) is an indispensable raw material for chemical industry: turpentine, rosin, varnishes, solvents - these are the products of its multi-stage processing. And the famous Baltic amber consists of 98% of the fossilized resin of the beautiful pine tree.

I didn’t ignore this magnificent tree and ethnoscience. Buds and needles are used for cooking healing decoctions, taking baths. And pine essential oil, the properties of which have long been appreciated by people, has the widest spectrum positive effects on the body and, as a result, is actively used for medicinal purposes.

A relative of turpentine

Almost the entire tree, all its parts contain essential oil. And when turpentine is obtained, it is precisely a mixture of these oils, having different chemical composition. And the healthiest and highest quality pine oil is obtained from pine paws using steam distillation, which lasts 6 hours. Its main components are:

  • a-pinene (up to 60%);
  • D3 – Karen (up to 11%);,
  • camphene (up to 7%);
  • b-pinene (up to 6%);
  • g and d-cadinene (up to 8%);
  • limonene (up to 3%), etc.

Moreover, this composition can change significantly due to geographical location(for example, a product from Siberian pine will have different indicators), the time of year when the distillation took place, as well as its duration. But nevertheless, there are 2 main types (chemotypes) of oil based on the predominance of either a-pinene or D3 - carene. It was found that the second variety, “caren”, is more allergic to the human body and can cause dermatitis, and this pine essential oil has very limited use.

Experts unanimously recognize the pinene chemotype of this product, obtained from Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) in the north of our country and in Finland, as the most valuable for aromatherapy. Moreover, this oil is considered the safest and healthiest for the human body.

However, you should be very responsible about its storage, because light and air have harmful influence on this drug: rapid “resinization” occurs, the formation of peroxides, which can cause various allergic reactions. Therefore, it is recommended to store essential pine oil in a tightly closed dark glass bottle in a cool place.

Unfortunately, this drug is also subject to falsification through the efforts of “craftsmen”. Often, under the guise of essential oil from pine needles, they sell a cheaper variety obtained from pine wood, or dilute it gum turpentine. Therefore, when purchasing, you should pay attention to the manufacturer and the price, which cannot be ridiculously low.

Saves from scurvy, rheumatism, tuberculosis

It effectively removes headache, promotes normalization blood pressure, is a good diuretic and choleretic agent.

  • 2 teaspoons honey;
  • 2 drops of pine oil;
  • 2 drops;
  • 1 drop of eucalyptus oil;
  • 1 drop of oil.

Everything is thoroughly mixed, the resulting mixture is massaged chest with tracheitis, bronchitis.

Inhalations using pine essential oil are also widely used in the treatment of colds. For cold inhalations, moisten a handkerchief with 2-4 drops of oil and inhale the healing aroma for several minutes; for hot ones - combine in equal parts with eucalyptus oil, and the procedure itself lasts for 5 minutes.

Purulent wounds are treated with lotions: 5 drops of pine oil are poured into 30 ml of warm boiled water, moisten a swab or napkin with this solution and apply to the affected area for 5 minutes.

For muscle inflammation and poor circulation, it is recommended to rub using a mixture of pine oil (5-6 drops) and any base oil(10 ml).

You can only take fresh essential pine oil orally in small quantities and only on the recommendation of a doctor. For liver and kidney diseases, take 6 drops of oil, 100 g of honey, the resulting mixture, 1 teaspoon, is taken before meals, washed down with warm water acidified with lemon.

Pine oil for beauty

In home cosmetology, pine oil is also used quite widely due to the fact that it:

  • has antiseptic properties, anti-edematous effect;
  • promotes skin cell regeneration;
  • stimulates the formation of natural collagen;
  • cleanses skin pores;
  • stimulates local blood circulation;
  • strengthens hair and nails.

Essential oil It is recommended to add pine trees to creams, tonics, and masks in a ratio of 3 drops for every 5 ml of cosmetic product. Such mixtures are effective in combating swelling, acne and pustular rashes, various manifestations pigmentation. Many cosmetologists recommend next lineup face creams:

  • 10 ml base;
  • 2 drops;
  • 2 drops;
  • 1 drop of pine oil.

If you regularly use this composition, your facial skin will become more elastic and wrinkles will become less noticeable.

Pine essential oil is often used as a component cosmetic ice, which is used to wipe the skin of the neck and face. To prepare this remedy, add 1 teaspoon of honey and 2 drops of oil to 200 ml of water, after which the resulting mixture is frozen in ice molds. It is recommended to wipe the skin with such cubes in the morning and evening.

Pine essential oil for hair is also considered very effective drug, because it allows you to fight baldness. It is added to shampoos and rinses in the following ratio: 3 drops of oil per 5 ml of cosmetic product. If you regularly use this shampoo, you can forget about it forever, strengthen weakened, brittle hair.

Pine essential oil is also used to care for the skin of the hands. It should also be added to the cream (5 drops per 5 ml of cream) and rubbed in before bed. This composition will strengthen your nails and make your hand skin smooth and elastic.

The composition contains up to 60% pinene and 11% carene. In addition, the extract contains cadinenes, limonenes, camphor, medicinal bitter resins and other biological elements that have antiseptic and disinfectant properties. The jar needs to be shaken periodically. On the 6th day, the oil must be filtered, squeezed out and poured into a new portion of raw materials. Repeat this from 4 to 10 times. The more you do this, the higher your concentration will be.
  • Hot maceration- more quick way, but the quality will be lower. Do everything as for cold maceration, but do not cover the jar and place in a water bath over low heat for 3-4 hours. The temperature should not exceed 37 degrees. Cool and filter.

Distillation is the simplest method, but it requires a distiller.

Important! Oil prepared at home must be stored in a dark glass bottle in the refrigerator and no longer than 11 months.
