Conquest Points 5.4 8. WoW: Battle for Azeroth - new system of rewards, ranks and weekly conquest points in PvP mode

The developers devote a lot of time to PvP in Battle for Azeroth. In the upcoming expansion, they will significantly change the structure of rewards in PvP mode, as well as the rank system, and there will also be changes to weekly conquest points.

A message from the WoW developers

New rank system

We will be changing the ranking system to be more consistent with other Blizzard games. WoW was one of the first Blizzard games to feature a ranking system (it was implemented in Arena mode), so it's safe to say it's time for a change.

For this reason, we would like to rank players the same way we do in StarCraft and Overwatch, and introduce group designations like Gold, Platinum, and so on. (However, we will develop a special system of titles, such as “Challenger”, “Fighter”, “Duelist”.) We believe that such titles have already become common among PvP fans, and we will be pleased to add them to the game. Please note that you will still be able to see your rating after the end of the battle, as well as in a special section of the interface. We're also going to add rank information directly to the game interface (for example, you'll be able to tell if you've reached rank 10 in your region).

New reward system based on item level

As with Legion, players will be rewarded with more powerful gear as they achieve higher scores. However, in Legion, the quality of rewards increased linearly, with item levels gradually increasing as the rank increased. We found that this system does not adequately take into account the distribution of players and does not provide truly worthy rewards commensurate with the effort expended. (In other words, the item level was too low.) As a result, we will change the distribution of players so that it follows the normal distribution schedule and meets the specifics of the new rank system.

This means that players in the Challenger/Gold group (rated between 1600 and 1800) will receive common items comparable to those found in normal raids, while players in the Fighter/Platinum group ”, in turn, will be able to receive raid-level items in Heroic mode, and so on.

Epic quality skins and other rewards

Various rewards will be tied to certain ranks. In the Legion expansion, you could get an entire Epic quality skin upon reaching a rating of 2000, and in the Battle for Azeroth expansion, items will be given out gradually at different ranks. Plus, you'll be able to use your new skin immediately as soon as you reach a new rank, so you don't have to wait until the end of the season.

Perhaps someone will be confused by the size of the groups into which the players will be distributed. And we fully agree that the most serious competition occurs at the highest ranks. This will be taken into account. As before, seasonal Gladiator mounts (and likely titles) will still be awarded to a certain percentage of players at the end of the season. We may introduce new rewards for players of higher ranks, since many existing gifts (like epic skins) can be received at lower ranks.

Weekly Conquest Points

As mentioned, we will be introducing a new conquest points system based on past developments. You will be able to earn conquest points in PvP mode (mainly in ranked battles, as well as in war mode), gradually reaching the point required to receive a weekly reward. Such a system should attract the majority of players.

One of the main goals of the new system is to establish a correspondence between the effort expended and the rewards, thereby highlighting the PvP mode favorably. This is especially true in the lower rank range, as in Legion and before it, players often didn't see the point in devoting time to PvP. I think everyone agrees that increasing the number of participants in PvP battles is a worthy goal.

Bloody PvP battles evoke a lot of emotions and require extreme concentration, but experienced fighters know that good equipment is the key to victory.
IN World add-on of Warcraft: Cataclysm players have the opportunity to earn new look PvP currencies called “conquest points”. These points can be exchanged for the best PvP armor and weapons in the game to give you an advantage in subsequent battles.

The gladiator set is the dream of many PvP fighters, but how do you earn the conquest points needed to purchase it? There are three main ways:

  • Victory in arena battles
  • Victory on rated battlegrounds
  • First victory of the day on a random battlefield
Each time your team wins a Ranked Arena or Ranked Battleground, you will receive a certain number of Conquest Points; No points are awarded for a defeat. The first victory of the day on a random battlefield earns 25 conquest points.

There is a limit to the maximum number of conquest points that can be earned per week, regardless of source. First, the personal rating of all players equal to zero, and the maximum number of points per week is 1,343 - this is the maximum that can be scored during the current week. Unlike honor and justice points, there are no restrictions on conquest (and valor) points.

Note: Do not accumulate excessive amounts of Conquest Points, as they will later be converted into Honor Points (or Justice Points in the case of Valor Points) when new equipment sets are released, but increase the 4,000 Points limit for the currency used to purchase equipment from previous seasons , not planned. However, the conversion of glasses is still looming somewhere in the distant future. We will definitely warn you about it in advance, but in the meantime, you can safely purchase new equipment as soon as you can afford it.

If you want to be able to earn more than 1,343 conquest points per week, you will have to try to raise your personal rating above 1,500 points by participating in battles in rating arenas or rating battlegrounds. Only the best personal rating is taken into account; Once you exceed the 1,500 point mark, the weekly Conquest Points cap will begin to increase. With a high rating, the weekly point limit can reach 3,000. Here are some examples of ratings and their corresponding maximum points:

RatingPoints limit per week
1500 1343
1800 1940
2100 2533
2400 2849
2700 2849
3000 3000

The current total number of conquest points is displayed in the "Currency" tab. By opening the Conquest tab in the PvP menu, you can get additional information about how close you are to maximum value points per week, as well as points awarded in case of victory in the arena or rating battlefield. Goods offered by merchants for conquest points can be viewed in Stormwind's Hall of the Defender and in Orgrimmar's Hall of Legends.

Now that you know exactly what you're fighting for, you can safely go show off your stunning PvP skills to the rest of Azeroth. Meet your enemies face to face! Fight and win!

War Mode- This new system world PvP, which came into force in the prepatch to the “Battle for Azeroth”. It includes a new mechanism for awarding honor points and new talents. War mode can be enabled in the main capital of your faction. It gives access to PvP talents and some other benefits. By turning on war mode, you will demonstrate your readiness to fight with other players. At the same time, you will receive additional experience to compensate for the risks.

Post from Blizzard

We hope that soon all players will be able to try out the war mode, but for now we want to tell you more about it.

Access to honor talents.

As we already mentioned, in war mode the character always has access to honor talents. In principle, it can be compared to the PvP mode from Legion, with the only difference being that the war mode cannot be turned on and off on the fly. When war mode is turned on, honor talents work constantly, which can be useful not only in PvP, but also in PvE.

Equipment scaling.

We wanted success in battles between players to depend more on their skills, rather than on their level and equipment. Of course, good equipment will give an advantage in battle, but only to a certain limit. This mechanic can be compared to the mechanics of the unranked battlegrounds from Legion, but without the templates for the characteristics. It should be remembered that when war mode is turned on, scaling is performed only in PvP battles, that is, you will have to fight with creatures living in the game world as usual.

Conquest points and world PvP.

In Battle for Azeroth, players can earn Conquest Points in the same way as in previous expansions, that is, by visiting Ranked Arenas and Ranked Battlegrounds (as well as unranked Battlegrounds, but in smaller quantities). What's new is that Conquest Points will also be available for other PvP activities, meaning players will have more options for their weekly points cap.

Bounty on your head

How to earn conquest points in world PvP? Of course, kill other players. The more players you kill, the higher the chance that the opposing faction will place a bounty on your head. As soon as this happens, all enemies in your location will know that you can be hunted and will see you on the map. Good luck!

And much more...

Some features of the combat mode will be revealed a little later. We don't want to spoil the surprise for you! On at the moment the system represents the basis that we will develop in the future.

Benefits of War Mode

  • Access to PvP talents in the open world, regardless of the type of targets you fight
  • +10% to experience when leveling up
  • +10% gold for completing world quests at maximum level
  • Opportunity to earn conquest points and receive rewards for the weekly cap of these points
  • Ability to complete PvP achievements

Want to attack a player who is galloping past on a horse? By turning on War Mode, you will have access to the Setestrel 5000, which you can use to force a potential enemy to dismount!

How to earn honor points in war mode?

By turning on war mode, you will receive one of following effects: Horde Soldier / Alliance Soldier :

  • For killing an ordinary player of the opposite faction - 6 additional points.
  • For killing a player with the Assassin rank (that is, who killed 10 players and remained alive) - 30 additional points.

By killing 10 enemies and remaining alive, you receive the rank Assassin of the Horde / Assassin of the Alliance, as well as a +15% bonus to outgoing damage and healing.

What are PvP talents?

PvP talents in Battle for Azeroth are very similar to PvP talents in Legion, but they have a different interface. You can choose four talents, with one of them having an accessory effect (Gladiator's Locket, Adaptation, or Relent). The options for the other three are the remaining honor talents from Legion.

If the character is in the open world, PvP talents are always active. They can be seen in the main talent window rather than in a separate tab, and you have to choose four talents instead of six. In addition, PvP talents are immediately available and do not require a prestige level to obtain them.

How to enable PvP talents?

PvP talents can be turned on and off in Stormwind (Alliance) or Orgrimmar (Horde). To select PvP talents, you need to open the talent panel, click on the right arrow button and determine the appropriate options for yourself.

You can change talents in the recreation area or in the open world using the Tome of the Tranquil Mind.
