Calculation of astrological houses

Usually, to calculate astrological houses, we use a ready-made computer program (we talked about this in part 3), but every astrologer should be able to make calculations using tables.

So, you will need Placidus House Tables (The American book of Tables, Placidus book of tables by Neil F. Michelsen.), as well as Ephemerides.

Let's calculate the astrological houses for September 6, 1982, GMT 11 hours 35 minutes, Tula.

Before using the House Tables, we will need to add three numbers.

1. The first term is GMT. We already know it, it’s 11:35.

2. Second term – Sidereal Time. Open the Midnight Ephemeris and find the Sid column there. Time (Sidereal Time – Sidereal Time). Write down the data for the desired date from there (only hours and minutes, no seconds). On September 6 it is 22 hours 59 minutes.

You may notice that sidereal time increases by 4 minutes every day. We can distribute these 4 minutes evenly throughout the day.
